Pickleball is becoming one of the fastest growing games out there, and we are well aware that many of our Liquid Life guests enjoy playing! Whether you want to get a competitive tournament going or just play a few leisure games with the family, there are several places in the area where you can get your pickleball fix in:
Gulf Shores Sportsplex hosts the largest number of courts in the area, with 12 to choose from. These courts are open to the public as well, so no need to bring out the credit card! Just make sure you go anytime from sunrise to 10:00 p.m. Once it hits 10, lights go out. Restroom and water access is available. This is an amazing choice for those that want to get some quick games in with no fees attached!
Want a little more privacy but still be outside? The One Club Pickleball Courts are for you! The 3 courts are within the One Club apartment complex, which also hosts a golf course and many other areas for activities. The courts are available to reserve, but you will have to pay a one time fee to play here. Their courts offer permanent lines and nets up just like the Sportsplex does, and also have food options available. Contact One Club to get more information on everything they have to offer!
For those that want to escape the Alabama heat, these next few options are for you! The Orange Beach Recreation Center holds 6 indoor hard courts that are available to use with a one-time fee. You will have access to amenities such as food, restrooms, and water. There’s also an equipment store for any other items you may need!
Pickleball at OWA is the area’s first indoor pickleball facility! You will find 4 courts that are available for walk-in play, as well as reservations (just be aware that reservations will take priority over walk-ins!). You will pay a fee for every hour you play unless you hold a membership. Their amenities include a pro shop, restrooms, water, and even paddles/balls to rent!
The Gulf Shores Cultural Center offers pickleball on Thursdays and Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. This center has 3 acrylic courts with permanent lines, and also offers nets to set up if they are not already up when you arrive. There is a one-time fee and there is no option for reserving the courts. These courts are a great option, but we encourage you to call them ahead of your visit to see if the courts are busy/available!
We believe these places will satisfy your need to play America’s favorite paddle game! We encourage you to try out several of these areas and see which place is right for you. Make sure to check out our other blog posts for different eats and treats to try after your competitive matches!
