Our Favorite 5 Can't-Miss Spots for Your Gulf Coast Beach Vacation!

Before you head to visit our little slice of heaven this summer, we wanted to share with you some of our favorite can't-miss spots on the Gulf! 1. The Fun Boat Dolphin Cruises & Sealife Experience

Looking for something to spice up your vacation time? Take a trip to Orange Beach Marina, where you will find The Fun Boat docked and waiting for you. Not only will you get to feel the ocean breeze for the 2 hour-long ride, but you will also get to see dolphins and have a water war for the whole family to enjoy! During the water war, one Fun boat will battle another Fun Boat to see who will surrender their water soakers first. If you would rather just watch the kids have fun squirting each other until they are dripping wet, you can watch from inside the enclosed part of the boat. 

The captain and deckhands will make sure you have the time of your life while having an awesome wildlife experience. A special treat on The Fun Boat is the opportunity to take pictures with surprise sealife! Cruises are all day long, whether you would like to enjoy the dolphins right around midday or at sunset, they will be out and playful. Daytime cruises are $18 (plus tax), and $5 (plus tax) for kids under the age of 2. Sunset cruises are $20 (plus tax) for all passengers. Be prepared and have your sea legs ready for this relaxing ride!

2. The Gulf Restaurant 

Orange Beach’s hidden gem (located alongside Perdido Pass right before you go over the eastern bridge) is where you will find some of the best food on the island. The Gulf Restaurant will give you all the feelings of sitting on the beach having a picnic. However, you won’t have to sit on a towel in the sand - you will be relaxing on a couch or lengthy picnic tables next to the water. Your food will be hot, but you don’t have to be as you are eating under palm trees and canopies. While you are here, make sure you try out the shrimp tacos that look too photogenic to even eat and have one of their many beautiful cocktails. 

3. The Southern Grind Coffee House

A boost of energy is what we all need after a night of finding sand crabs on the beach! Check out The Southern Grind Coffee House where you will find a wide variety of coffee selections and smoothies. However, do not forget the most important meal of the day with their excellent brunch menu! Our personal favorite on the menu would have to be the Garden Omelette. Chocked full of mouth-watering veggies, combine the omelette with a cup of coffee to give you that jolt of goodness to keep you enjoying your vacation all day long!

4. Ginny Lane Bar & Grill 

If you are looking for a nice spot for date night at the beach, head over to the Wharf in Orange Beach where Ginny Lane Bar & Grill will serve you and your appetite. The fried green tomatoes & the shrimp scampi are to die for! With wonderful views of the canal and a plate of scrumptious goodness ready to be consumed in front of you, you will leave feeling more than satisfied. Your appetite might lead you here, but their sensational food, breathtaking view and exciting atmosphere will keep you coming back.

5. Fisher's at Orange Beach Marina

Before going to have a blast on The Fun Boat, stop by on the path at Fisher’s! Fisher's at Orange Beach Marina is a truly unique fine dining experience. You will find dockside dining downstairs and fine dining upstairs. This fabulous restaurant is surrounded by photo-worthy plants and water. Enjoy tasting the seafood set before you and watching boats sail off into the sunset for a vacation you won't soon forget!
