Fun Summer Activities

  Over the last 30 days we have been sharing some fun summer activities with you on our social media pages. We know everyone loves the beach but there are so many other things to experience while visiting us on the Gulf Coast. You definitely don’t want to miss out on all the fun right? Here’s a list of our favorite things to do while on vacation!

1. Jet Boat Thrill Ride.     

You will not regret spending half an hour on Capt. Dean’s Jet Boat! It's perfect for thrill seekers! The Extreme Fun is a 30 foot New Zealand style jet boat ride that travels at crazy speeds doing 360 degree spins, slides, turns and shallow water maneuvers! Be prepared. There is a 100% chance you will get wet during this ride. So, dress accordingly.

 

2. Cool off with a smoothie.

We all know how hot the temperatures can get in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach and there is no better way to cool down than with a fresh smoothie from the Liquid Life Cafe. They are the closet coffee shop to the Gulf of Mexico. Everything you love about coffee and the beach is brought together here at Orange Beach’s favorite coffee shop. 

3. Hiking. 

Did you know you could go hiking at the beach? Seven trails among six distinct ecosystems make up more than 15 miles of the Hugh S. Branyon Backcountry Trail complex through Orange Beach, Gulf Shores, Alabama and the Gulf State Park. You’ll want to bring your camera on this adventure to capture the memories of the butterfly garden, freshwater marshes, wildlife and more!

4. The Blue Angels.

One of our all time favorite summer activities is watching the U.S. Navy Blue Angels! Every summer we all gather to see their annual show over Pensacola Beach but you don’t have to go to the show to catch a glimpse of the Blue Angels. They “buzz the beach” quite often on their way home from air shows around the country. So, keep those cameras handy while hanging out on the beach this summer!

5. Milkshakes.

Another great way to cool down this summer is by visiting The Yard Milkshake Bar in Gulf Shores! They just opened up this May and you can’t go wrong with any of their amazing options. Be sure to go hungry! The milkshakes are unlike anything we've ever seen before. The ones we tried last month had whole cupcakes and slices of cheesecake up top!
