Mardi Gras at the beach is an experience unlike any other. If you’ve never experienced Mardi Gras in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach before, you need to get down and join the party!
Mardi Gras is the Annual Carnival Celebration that originated in Mobile, Alabama. The celebration was founded by Frenchman Nicholas Langlois in 1703 and is known as the oldest celebration in the United States. New Orleans was founded in 1718 and immediately began carrying on the tradition so widely known in Louisiana today.
Mardi Gras on the Gulf Coast is nothing like the festivities that take place in New Orleans every year. While staying true to the theme of Mardi Gras, we welcome families and friends to gather for fun, kid friendly parades and festivities.
In the weeks leading up to Fat Tuesday, Gulf Shores and Orange Beach will be adorned in purple, green and gold, preparing for the exciting events to unfold.
Parades will line Highway 59 and Beach Road, preparing to throw everything under the sun to those attendees who can yell “Throw Me Something Mister!” louder than anyone else.
So line up, throw your hands in the air, shout “Hey Mister!” at the top of your lungs and prepare to have some serious FUN!
Friendly masked members of the Mystics of Pleasure Mardi Gras Association, as well as many locals parading the streets will be throwing beads, Moon Pies, cups, and other miscellaneous items right outside your beach front condo!
