Tailgating on the Gulf Coast

It's the most wonderful time of the year. 

SEC football has just begun, which means we have officially welcomed Tailgating Season 2016! It's time to grab your cooler, fire up the grill, and tune in to watch your favorite team fight towards the championship. 

You may be thinking to yourself, "What on earth does the beach have to do with tailgating?" Well, you are about to learn just how awesome a Gulf Coast Tailgating Party can be! 

Here on the Gulf Coast, we like to think that Alabama's rolling tide is none other than the rolling tide of the Gulf of Mexico. Regardless of whether or not that's where they got their name (it isn't), we still know how to throw the best tailgate party around. 

If you are looking to have an unforgettable party of your own, follow these few steps!

1. Prime Location - Where you choose to host your party could be make or break. Not only do you have to have an awesome screen for catching every detail of the game, but you need to make sure you have the space to fit eveyone on your guest list. Also, make sure your location features an enormous amount of space for preparing your favorite game day food! 

2. Essential Food - No one likes football on an empty stomach. Make sure you have grabable, snackable treats as well as a plethora of meats and cold drinks to last all four quarters. 

3.  Game Day Accessories - Show your team spirit with a jersey, face paint, or other team decorations! Nothing get's people pumped up about a big game like the team colors splashed around the space. 

4. Your Team  - Your team doesn't mean who you'll be rooting for, but who you want rooting with you. Sometimes, it's even fun to have fans of the rivaling team for playful (and totally not aggressive) banter! Invite your loved ones and very best friends for fantastic memories that will last longer than just this season. 

5. Game  Day Dictionary - Hey, not all of us are football experts. So if you need to brush up on the lingo, do a quick google search for a run down of the game and popular phrases. That way, you wont scream home run when you really meant TOUCHDOWN!
